The glass stays in the frame, even after impact.

Security film holds broken glass in place; solar film cuts heat and UV. The two can be combined on the same pane.

When this makes sense

  • A shop window or glass facade is exposed to break-in attempts by smashing the glass.
  • A room overheats in summer from direct sun through the glass, and air conditioning can't keep up.
  • You want an extra second or two before an intruder can actually get through broken glass.
  • The glass is large and expensive to replace, and protection should extend its life without changing the facade's look.

When it doesn't

  • The glass is already factory-laminated or toughened security glass, and extra film makes little difference.
  • The goal is fully impact-proof glass — that's a job for security glazing or bars; film slows entry, it doesn't stop it completely.
  • Tinting has to meet an exact specification the film doesn't satisfy — then the right architectural glass is chosen instead.

How it works

  1. 01

    Glass survey

We check the type, thickness and condition of the existing glass before choosing a film.

  2. 02

    Film selection

Security film for mechanical resistance, solar film for heat and UV, or both combined on the same pane.

  3. 03

    Surface preparation

The glass is cleaned and prepped so the film bonds without bubbles or edge lifting.

  4. 04

    Application

The film is applied to the existing glass without replacing the glass or frame, with a dry curing time after fitting.

  5. 05

    Effect after impact

Security film holds broken glass in the frame, slowing entry and stopping fragments falling in or out.

Questions

Does security film tint the glass?

Security film is clear; tinting is a separate, solar film. The two can be combined on the same pane.

Does the film make the glass fully impact-proof?

No, it slows and complicates entry after impact, because the glass stays in the frame instead of shattering — that's the difference between a few extra seconds and instant entry.

Can the film be applied to existing glass without replacing it?

Yes, that's the usual case — the film is bonded directly to the existing glass, with no glass or frame replacement.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the area, but a typical shop window is finished within one working day, with a short drying time after fitting.
