A queue without pushing at the counter.

A numbered queue at the counter — fewer disputes in the waiting room, a clear order for staff, and calmer clients.

When this makes sense

  • People at the counter regularly argue about who's next, especially during peak hours.
  • A clinic, municipal office or bank wants measurable waiting time per counter and per day.
  • Several services run in the same space and clients need to be sorted by request type.
  • Staff need a clear signal for who's next, without calling out across the waiting room.

When it doesn't

  • Daily client volume is small and order is naturally respected without a system.
  • Service is provided strictly by appointment, with no walk-ins or waiting.
  • There's no room for a screen and ticket terminal, and the alternative — a plain paper list — still works well enough.

How it works

  1. 01

    Ticket terminal

The client pulls a numbered ticket at the entrance, choosing a service type if there's more than one.

  2. 02

    Call display

A screen and audio signal call the next number to a free counter, visible to the whole waiting room.

  3. 03

    Counter assignment

Staff call the next client from their own terminal and see how many are still waiting.

  4. 04

    Waiting-time tracking

The system logs the time from ticket to call, per counter and per service type.

  5. 05

    Report

Daily traffic and waiting-time data are available for analysing load and planning shifts.

Questions

Can the system separate clients by service type?

Yes, the ticket terminal can offer a service choice, so queues are managed separately by request type.

How many counters can one queue system cover?

The number of counters is matched to the site — from a single counter to every counter in a large waiting room, with one central display.

Is waiting time tracked?

Yes, the time from ticket to call is logged per counter, available as a report for analysing load.

Does staff need special software on their computers?

The staff terminal is simple and needs minimal training — calling the next number is one button.
